Call of Duty 4 Tips

For the beginner/all purpose fighter

Whether you are just starting, or want a class to fall back to when the going gets rough and nothing seems to be working, this is what we recommend:

Weapon: M16 w/best scope or sight your level allows

Perk 1: Special Grenades X 3 OR RPG X 2

Perk 2: Stopping Power

Perk 3: Deep Impact

The great thing about this custom class is that it is available to anyone who can create a class. The M16 is a powerful weapon to begin with, but with the addition of Stopping Power can kill most anyone with a single burst. The scope will allow you to see targets that are peeking out from behind cover, with Deep Impact giving you the ability to pierce the cover and finish them off. As for the final perk, it's really up to you if you want to use special grenades or RPGs--it depends on whether or not you want to be effective against troops or the potential enemy helicopter.

For the aggressor

Our favorite combination of weapons and perks for levels where we want to be aggressive is the following:

Weapon: Scorpion w/red dot sight attachment

Perk 1: Special Grenades X 3 (Stun)

Perk 2: Stopping Power

Perk 3: Martyrdom

Most people would pick the Uzi because it has a higher rate of fire, but the Scorpion is a great weapon because its accuracy is decent (seriously, you can kill people from across the map with a red dot sight). Also, the increased damage from Stopping Power will more than make up for the lower rate of fire, allowing you to kill most any opponent with only a few rounds. Use the stun grenades with reckless abandon, throwing them into every room before you enter. Martyrdom completes the package because well, you're going to die a lot, and probably close to your opponent, so why not drop a grenade and try to take them with you?

Here are a pair of high level classes that GV Nelson uses:

Custom Class I

Weapon: G36C with red dot sight & AK-47 with red dot sight

Perk 1: Special Grenades X 3

Perk 2: Overkill (allows Nelson to carry both the G3 and the AK-47)

Perk 3: Deep Impact

This class allows Nelson to be both accurate at long range and have a weapon that can put out powerful, automatic fire when the situation calls for it.

Custom Class II

Weapon: R700 & G36C

Perk 1: Overkill (allows Nelson to carry both the G3 and the R700)

Perk 2: Bandolier

Perk 3: Iron Lung

This combination of perks makes Nelson's class great for both sniping and taking out the occasional soldier who comes up on his position. The bandoliers insure that he won't run out of ammo, and the Iron Lung gives him the ability to hold his breath for prolonged periods of time. The G3 allows Nelson to have a long to medium ranged weapon even after he runs out of sniper ammunition.

These are the first of what will hopefully be many multiplayer tip blogs. We'll try to gather more class combinations from around the office but are also interested in finding out what combinations work best for you? PM us with your favorite class combinations and a short description of why they are awesome.
