Expert, I doubt it. Pretty good, I would say so. Ok so some quick tips.
Active Reload is the best tip I can give you. I think it’s like 5x the damage when you are using it.
Machine Gun:
Machine Gun is good for long range obviously. If you catch a guy out in the open with no immediate cover available you can take him down pretty easily with head/upper body shots. And with active reload this can make for a very deadly weapon.
Chainsaw:
Now the chainsaw is a good and a bad thing. The pros of the thing are a one hit kill, has what seems like an 8 foot wing span that can grab people around corners and even when they dive away from you, and of course the bloodiest way to kill somebody. The cons are that in online play the chainsaw takes waaayyy to long to kill somebody if he has teammates around him. Since you can't die while chainsawing somebody, they just wait with a shotgun next to you and blow you into pieces after you are done. Or they chainsaw you right back. So the chainsaw is a perfect weapon for flanking and catching people by surprise.
All that said, you can still win a battle verse a shotgun up close. What you don't want to do is just run in a hold down b. You want to be blind firing at him (not using the left trigger to bring up the cross hairs), you won't very accurate but you aren't actually trying to kill him that way. You want to get close enough where the chainsaw will lock onto him but the danger is the shotgun can deliver a fatal blow in 1 or 2 hits at that range. So you want to time pressing B in between shotgun firing. As long as you weren't stunned or chainsaw de-revved by the shotgun you should grab him with the saw leaving him screaming, "WHAT THE F**K I SHOT HIM"(I know from experience on both ends). So the moral is chainsaw the unsuspecting and between shots in a one on one.
Shotgun:
Once again active reload is pretty key. With active reload you can do a lot of damage to your enemy from a good distance away. But where it is really deadly is up close. There are two methods of fighting up close: blind firing and quick aiming. Blind Firing is what I prefer and that is where you are in third person just moving your guy to aim the best you can at the opponent. Quick aiming, which promo does sometimes, is where you quickly pull the left trigger to get the half second of aiming towards your target. Both allow you to fire as fast as the shotgun does but quick aiming slows your character down.
Ok, so you are in a shotgun fight, what do you do? Well you want to use a combination of circle fighting and jumping to get your opponent. What I mean by circle fighting is you and your opponents are basically running around in a circle trying to get the one lucky fatal shot in. The diving technique is also helpful to avoid your opponent’s shots and to sneak up on him quickly. On method is to role right up to him and blow him away in 1 shot. This is a good method if you catch the guy off guard a little. However, the opponent has the advantage in this situation because he can take the first shot, which if it lands will kill you.
The shotguns melee attack is also pretty useful. If you land a clean shotgun hit from close range but don’t kill your opponent, he will be very weak and this is where melee comes in. One shot and a quick melee will bring the enemy to his knees before he can pull the trigger again. But be careful though, if you miss it will take you some time to reorient yourself to the enemy. And if you enemy has continued to move in a circle he will no be at your back leaving you in pieces very soon.
That is all I have time to write now. I will keep posting on things such as, Sniper tips, Pistol tips, Grenade tips, knowing when to run, and finishing a downed enemy, and the advantages of being the host. Yeah, I wrote like a page in Word, whatevs I was bored.
